An Album by Joseph Martinka
The God Who
Comes Near
Songs for the Journey Home
A musical pilgrimage through longing, sorrow, wonder, healing, communion, and joy—twelve songs rooted in the conviction that God has already crossed the distance and drawn near to us.
The Invitation
God is closer
than we imagine.
These songs begin before dawn, on an old road bordered by olive trees. They move through the places where human life is actually lived: through longing and loss, bread broken at a table, the silence before morning, the ache of waiting, and the sudden recognition that creation is still singing.
This is not an album about climbing high enough to find God. It is about discovering that God has already crossed the distance and drawn near to us.
The journey home does not begin when we finally become worthy. It begins when we hear Love calling our name.
Listen
Two places to enter the journey.
These two songs offer different doors into the album: one through the mercy that continues to call us home, and one through the joy of a creation filled with light and praise.
Love Still Calls Your Name
A song for anyone who has wandered, doubted, failed, waited, or wondered whether grace can still find them.

Everything Sings
A joyful song of wonder in which Brother Sun, Sister Moon, and every living creature join creation’s hymn of praise.

The Album Journey
From encounter to communion.
The record is arranged as a three-part pilgrimage. Each act moves the listener farther along the road toward belonging, recognition, and joy.
Encounter
Before we begin searching, God is already near. These opening songs awaken us to a love that calls our name and meets us within the life we are already living.
Tracks 1–4Formation
We learn to see again: peace in the midst of fear, grace at the table, holiness beneath the surface, and the quiet work of God unfolding beyond our control.
Tracks 5–9Communion
The road opens into belonging. The beloved discovers that all creation sings, the empty chair is waiting, and love has been seeking us from the beginning.

From the Artist
These songs were written for people still walking.
I wrote this album for those who are searching, questioning, grieving, waiting, beginning again, or trying to recognize God within the complicated beauty of an ordinary life.
I have learned that grace rarely arrives according to our schedules. It meets us in kitchens and hospital rooms, in silence, in laughter, in disappointment, in bread broken at a table, and on roads we did not expect to travel.
My hope is not that these songs provide easy answers. My hope is that they become companions—small reminders that Christ still walks with those He loves, even before they recognize Him.
