About Joseph Martinka

Joseph began professional vocal training at the age of 6 and sang in church and school choirs throughout childhood and into adulthood. He loved being a part of school musicals, theatre productions, and choral performances of all kinds.

He has sung all styles of music, from opera all the way to rap. Musicals were a strong part of his growing up years and loves the music and shows of Andrew Lloyd Webber, along with all of the Broadway classics and standards. Some of his favorites include Phantom, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Hello Dolly, The King and I, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Music Man, The Wizard of Oz/Wicked, and lesser known shows like Big River (who doesn’t love a love song about God’s noblest creature, the hog?)

At the age of 19 he sang in a choral setting with John Rutter and performed his “Requiem” at Carnegie Hall in NYC. This event led to find his ultimate love, performing music for others on stage. This led to a love of things like karaoke, singing in dive bars, and joining various bands of varying musical styles.

He grew up listening to The Rat Pack, Bobby Darin, Paul Anka, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Loggins, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Richie Valens, Johnny Cash, John Denver, Jim Croce, and so many others. As he grew up he met so many people who had a deep and lasting musical effect on him, showing him the joys of all types of music like rock, pop, rap, and this led him to have a very eclectic taste.

All of this knowledge has history has led to a huge and varied repertoire of music, and all of this is available to share with others. Joseph would love the opportunity to share these gifts and perform at your event, to train you in your vocal journey, lend his talents to your recording project, voice over, song, etc.
